THE PARENTS / ADULTS CLASS

Fitness, Focus, and Stress Relief

What is the Parents / Adults Class?

I’m Wayne Centra, MOTR/L, founder and head Sensei here at Karate For All. Our Parent/Adults Karate Program is for adults of all ages and skill levels who want to make a real change in their lives. Whether you’re looking to build strength, finally tackle that stress you’ve been carrying, or discover a new passion, our adult karate classes give you the chance to challenge yourself while surrounded by people who get it.

Learn Real Karate Skills and Self-Defense

In our once-a-week evening adult classes, you have the opportunity to learn Shōtōkan Karate, Shitō-ryū, Jiu-jitsu, and Boxing. Sensei Wayne has over 40 years of Martial Arts experience and has earned his 4th Degree Black Belt under the tutelage of Sensei Fumio Demura, the real-life Mr. Miyagi. You’ll feel stronger, move better, and gain the kind of confidence that only comes from learning something hard and sticking with it. Every class, you will get better, and that’s something you can feel.

Find Your People

Our Parent/Adults Karate Program is a judgment-free zone where adults cheer each other on. You’ll train with people who share your goals and build real friendships along the way. Whether you’re starting karate for the first time or coming back after years away, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.

Work Toward Your Black Belt

Working toward your black belt is about more than just earning a rank.  It’s about proving to yourself what you’re capable of. The confidence and discipline you build in the dojo spill over into everything else: your job, your relationships, your whole life.

Train Alongside Your Kids

One of the best parts about our Parent/Adults karate classes? Any techniques or skills that you learn are directly applicable to your children and can help accelerate their journey to Black Belt.  Imagine the impact of your child seeing you challenge yourself, push through hard moments, and grow stronger alongside them. It’s a special bond that happens naturally when you’re both on your martial arts journeys. Through the Parent/Adults class, you also have greater access to Sensei Wayne’s expertise as a licensed occupational therapist to better assist your children.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How are students placed in classes?

The students are placed based on their ability and comfort level. If students are ready for more advanced training, we offer classes that match their skill level.

At Karate For All, students are primarily taught Shotokan Karate under the guidance of Sensei Wayne, a 4th degree black belt. Classes also incorporate elements of other martial arts such as jiu jitsu, boxing, and more, giving students a well-rounded training experience.

Occupational therapists are professionals who support others in performing at their highest level in their everyday lives. By incorporating social skills and emotional regulation, Sensei Wayne combines his background in martial arts and occupational therapy to teach his students to be physically and mentally tough and resilient.
